Finish later, unfinished answers and double submits
Last updated 14 October 2026
Long forms lose people. Solstral gives you three ways to keep them, all on a form's Actions tab under Unfinished forms.
1. Let visitors finish later
On a multi-step form, tick Let visitors finish later. A Finish later link appears beside Back and Next. The visitor gives their email address (or the one they've already typed is used) and we email them a link that fills their answers back in, on the step they were on. The link works for 30 days and is used up when they submit. Files, signatures and payments are never saved in a draft: they're asked for again.
2. Keep unfinished answers
Tick Keep unfinished answers (the form needs an Email field). Once a visitor has typed an email address, what they've typed is kept if they leave. The form tells visitors this in a sentence under it; you can change the wording. Unfinished entries show under Left unfinished on the form's Submissions tab, and half an hour after someone goes quiet, any flow on Form left unfinished runs once for them: send a reminder, create a lead, tell the team. A visitor who comes back and submits is never counted as unfinished.
3. Double submits
If the same email address is submitted to the same form twice within a minute (a double click, a slow connection pressed again), it's one submission and one flow run. The visitor sees the usual thank-you. Forms that take a payment rely on the payment itself to stop a double charge.
