Edit in the Simple editor

Last updated 22 October 2026

The builder has two modes. Simple builds a page from ready-made sections and changes what they say; the Designer is every element and style. Switch between them at the top left of the builder: the page is the same page in both. (Simple mode is being switched on workspace by workspace.)

Add, move and remove sections

The Sections list on the left is the page from top to bottom. Add section opens the library: pick a kind (a hero, features, testimonials, a gallery…) and a layout. Drag a section in the list, or use its arrows, to move it; its menu duplicates or deletes it.

Double-click any text on the canvas to type. Click a picture to choose another from your Library, with its description for screen readers. Click a button or link to change where it goes. A section with several items (cards, quotes, logos) adds and removes them within its own limits.

A section's layout and options

Select a section and its settings show the layouts it comes in: switching keeps your words and pictures. Its options set the spacing and background, including a background picture.

Who edits what

In the site's Settings ▸ Who edits what, the owner and admins choose the mode the builder opens in, and whether members edit content only. A member who edits content only opens in Simple mode and can change what the sections say, but not the site's design, settings or code: Solstral refuses anything else, whatever their browser sends.
