Website builder: menus that open, pasted colours, heading levels, images and a Publish that says where
A round of fixes to the website builder.
A round of fixes to the website builder.
- Menus and pickers open. Dropdowns, the image picker, date pickers and tooltips opened from the builder now appear on top of it instead of behind it.
- Paste any colour. Colour fields take
#8A8F98,8A8F98,rgb(),hsl(), a colour name orvar(--name). Press Enter or click away to apply it; anything that isn't a colour is outlined in red and never reaches the page. Paste anywhere in the open picker to apply a colour straight away. The picker shows your site colours (kept linked to the site's colour variables if you like), your brand colours, and HEX, RGB or HSL. - Heading levels. Settings now shows an element's tag. Switch a heading from H2 to H3, a paragraph to a quote, or a box to a section, header, footer or nav, and keep its classes and styles. Headings are named Heading 1 to Heading 6 in the Navigator, and you're warned when a page has more than one H1.
- Images. Select an image for an Image group in Settings: choose or replace it from the Content Library, upload, write alt text or mark it decorative, choose lazy or eager loading, and add or remove a link. A picked image gets its width and height, so the page doesn't jump while it loads. Click an empty image on the canvas to choose one. Background image layers show a thumbnail with Replace and Remove.
- Forms. A Form block now has a Form group: search your published forms, open the form to edit it, or create a new one. Its internal settings no longer appear under Custom attributes.
- Publish says where, and proves it. Publish opens a short dialog showing where the page goes live, lets you publish other pages with changes at the same time, and on a site that isn't live yet, publishes the site too. It ends on the live address with View site and Copy link. The top bar shows Draft, Published and when, or Unpublished changes.
- Desktop is always Desktop. With both side panels open on a laptop, the canvas used to be narrower than Desktop and showed Tablet styles. It now shows Desktop scaled to fit, and says so.
- Adding a class does something. When you add a class to an element that has its own styles, the builder says those styles override the class and offers to move them into the class, remove them, or keep them.
