Text your customers: numbers, the Text tab and replies
Last updated 14 October 2026
Texting runs on your workspace's own numbers. Every text, sent or received, is kept on the contact's timeline and in the Inbox.
1. Request a number
In Settings ▸ Text messages, choose Request a number: the country, a two-way number (people can reply) or a sender name (your business name, no replies), and the details carriers need to register it. We register it and switch it on; you're emailed when it's ready.
2. Text a contact
Open a contact with a mobile number and choose the Text tab beside Email. Pick the number, write the text (or insert a template) and press Send, or schedule it. The counter shows how many segments it is and the credits it uses.
3. Answer replies
Replies appear in the Inbox ▸ Texts view and on the contact's timeline. Reply from the conversation: it goes from the number they texted.
4. Consent and STOP
Anyone who replies STOP stops getting texts from that number straight away; START undoes it. Marketing texts need a yes first where the law asks for one: tick Ask for consent to marketing texts on a form's phone field or a booking page, or record it on the contact. A contact's phone field shows a badge for their consent.
