Goals you can act on, and charts that stop flattering the numbers

Targets get a home, and two ways a chart could quietly mislead you are closed.

Goals

Set a target - revenue won this quarter, calls made this month, deals created this year - and Goals shows where you are against it. Each target can belong to one person or to the whole workspace, and every number is measured by the same engine your reports use, so a goal can never disagree with the report behind it.

Every card shows pace, not just progress. 62% of target is excellent on the 3rd of the month and alarming on the 30th, and a progress bar on its own can’t tell you which you’re looking at. A marker on the bar shows where an even run-rate would have you by now, with days left and what the remaining days need to average.

Quiet periods now show as zero

A week with nothing in it used to be left out of a chart entirely, so a quiet fortnight between two busy ones looked like steady growth. Empty periods are now drawn. Counts and totals show zero; averages stay blank, because the average of nothing isn’t zero and drawing it as zero would invent a collapse that never happened.

The rest of a top 10

Showing the top 10 of 400 groups made ten bars look like the whole picture. You can now fold everything else into a single Other - and where adding up wouldn’t be honest, such as a count of distinct people who may appear in more than one group, it says so instead of showing a confident wrong number.
