Tasks: decisions you can find, due dates that stay put, and a list that only shows what you may see

Waiting on your decision

Approval requests from flows and change requests from the assistant now have their own section at the top of Tasks, one row per request, with Approve and Reject. They used to be hidden from that page even though the notification sent you there, and a request with no record appeared nowhere. A request can no longer be ticked off, edited, reassigned or deleted like a to-do, and expired requests close themselves instead of sitting overdue.

Due dates are days

A due date now means the same day for everyone. Anyone west of Greenwich saw tasks due a day early, and saving a task moved it back another day. The Due today filter and the Today section now always agree.

Yours by default

A new task is assigned to you unless you pick someone else or choose Unassigned. Before, the picker said “Me” and saved nobody, so those tasks were missing from Assigned to me and from Home. Existing tasks created that way have been given back to the person who made them.

Reminders

You can change or clear a reminder from the task’s edit form, and reassigning a task passes its reminder to the new owner. A reminder that fails to send is retried. When someone is deactivated, their open tasks become unassigned and admins are told how many.

Privacy and speed

The Tasks page now only lists tasks on records you’re allowed to see, and tasks on records in the bin drop off it. The list loads in pages, the calendar loads the month you’re looking at, search looks at the words in a task’s details rather than its formatting, and the record name on each task links to the record.
