Connect your Stripe account or Shopify store

Last updated 14 October 2026

Connect the Stripe account or Shopify store you already sell with, and each order, payment and subscription arrives as an event on the contact it is about. You need to be an admin of the workspace, and able to edit webhooks in Stripe or Shopify.

1. Add the source in Solstral

Go to Settings ▸ Tracked events. Under Connected sources, press Connect a source, choose Stripe or Shopify, give it a name you will recognise ("Main store"), and press Connect. The card shows an address that belongs to this source only.

2a. Stripe

  1. In your Stripe dashboard open Developers ▸ Webhooks and press Add endpoint.
  2. Paste the address from the card.
  3. Choose these events: payment_intent.succeeded, charge.refunded, customer.subscription.created, customer.subscription.updated, customer.subscription.deleted, customer.created, customer.updated.
  4. Save, then reveal the endpoint's Signing secret (it starts whsec_), paste it into the card in Solstral and press Save.

2b. Shopify

  1. In your Shopify admin open Settings ▸ Notifications ▸ Webhooks.
  2. Press Create webhook once for each of: Order creation, Order payment, Order cancellation, Refund create, Customer creation and Customer update. Format JSON, and the address from the card each time.
  3. Copy the key Shopify shows above the webhook list ("Your webhooks will be signed with…"), paste it into the card in Solstral and press Save.

3. Check it works

Make a test payment or order. Within a minute the card says how many deliveries it has received, and the event is on the contact's timeline. If the customer isn't in the CRM yet, the event waits and joins their contact once they are added with that address.

What arrives

  • Order placed, paid, cancelled, refunded, with the total, currency and, from Shopify, what was bought. Money is never card details.
  • Subscription started, changed, cancelled (Stripe), with the plan and price.
  • Customers: their Stripe or Shopify id is remembered on the contact, so later events find them even without an address.

If something is wrong

Every delivery is checked against the signing key before anything is read. If the key is wrong, the card shows a red note saying so; paste the right one. Pause stops new deliveries being recorded, New URL replaces the address (paste the new one into Stripe or Shopify; the old one stops at once), and Disconnect removes the source while keeping everything it already delivered. Recorded events count toward your plan's monthly tracked-events allowance; when it is used up, deliveries are acknowledged but not recorded, and the card says so.

This is your own Stripe account, for your customers. It has nothing to do with how you pay for Solstral.
