Default values, quick create and address fields

Last updated 15 October 2026

Default values

Edit a field in Settings ▸ Objects & fields and set its Default value. It is filled in on every new record that doesn't give that field a value: from the New form, the API, flows and forms. Imports are left as the file says. Besides a fixed value you can use {{today}} (or {{today+7}}), {{now}} and {{me}}, the person creating the record. Today is your workspace's today, in its timezone.

Quick create

The Quick create box on the same page picks the fields the New form shows first; the rest are under More fields. The form has Create & add another for entering several in a row.

Address fields

Add a field and choose Address. It has six parts: two lines, city, state or region, postcode and country. It is tidied when saved (the country stored as its code, a short state and the postcode in capitals) but never looked up on a map. It is shown the way that country writes addresses, without your own country's name, and reads as one line in search, filters, flow conditions, merge tags ({{record.office.city}} for a part) and exports. Reports can count by city, state, postcode or country.

An address imported as one line of text is kept whole as the first line rather than split up by guesswork.
