Consent, compliance footers and sending health

Solstral has guardrails that keep your marketing email legal and your sender reputation healthy. Most work automatically.
Your postal address (required)
Anti-spam law (CAN-SPAM, the Spam Act 2003, and others) requires every marketing email to show a real physical postal address. Set yours once in Settings → Email → Marketing compliance. It's shown in every campaign footer via the {{workspace.address}} tag, alongside the unsubscribe link and optional Privacy/Terms links. A campaign won't schedule until an address is set.
How consent is recorded
For every contact on a list we store how and when they consented: double opt-in (a confirmed click), a form submission, the subscription page, an attested import, a manual add, or an automation. Each list shows a consent-mix summary (e.g. "62% double opt-in, 30% form, 8% imported") so you can always answer an inbox provider's question: how was this list built?
Address hygiene
When you add contacts we check each address: it must be validly formed, its domain must be able to receive mail, and watchdog role addresses (postmaster@, abuse@, noc@…) are blocked because mailing them damages your reputation. Malformed or blocked addresses are skipped and reported.
Importing a list
Imported contacts can be emailed exactly like any other. Nothing in Solstral asks how a record was created — a CSV import, a form submission and a contact you typed in yourself are treated identically at send time. The only things that keep an address off a campaign are a standing unsubscribe, bounce or complaint, a watchdog role alias, or a double opt-in it hasn't confirmed.
Put them on a list as you import. The import wizard's Options step lists the marketing lists that hold this kind of record; pick one and the rows go on it as they import, instead of you finding the same contacts again afterwards. The result tells you what landed and what didn't — already on the list, awaiting a double opt-in confirmation, previously unsubscribed, or an address that can't receive mail.
Choosing a list asks you to confirm the recipients gave your business direct consent and that the list wasn't purchased, rented or scraped. This attestation is recorded against every row. Never import bought lists — it's the fastest way to get an entire sending account suspended.
Anyone who has already unsubscribed is skipped and reported, whatever the import says. Only they can opt back in.
Sending health
Solstral tracks your bounce and complaint rates per sending domain. If a domain is borderline you'll get a warning before you send; if it's clearly unhealthy the campaign is blocked. And if a workspace's complaint or bounce rate climbs too high, marketing sending pauses automatically to protect you — your one-to-one and transactional email keep working. Fix the underlying issue, then resume from Settings.
Who you can't email, and why
Marketing → Do not email lists every address marketing is blocked to, grouped by reason: unsubscribed, marked as spam, address doesn't exist, kept refusing mail, or blocked by your team. Unsubscribes, complaints and bounces arrive there on their own — the counts across the top are the thing to watch, because forty spam complaints and forty dead addresses are different problems.
You can add an address yourself when somebody asks you directly — on a call, in a reply, in person. Anyone who can edit records can do it, from that page or from the Marketing card on the contact's record, and it takes them off every list at the same time. Transactional email they ask for still goes out. Lifting a block is admin-only.
