Connect Claude or ChatGPT to your workspace

Last updated 15 September 2026

1. Turn it on

An admin opens Settings → AI connections and switches on Allow external AI services to connect. It is off on every new workspace. When it is on, CRM data an AI reads or writes is sent to that AI service under the person’s own account with them — not Solstral’s.

2. Add the connector

Copy Solstral’s MCP address from the same screen.

  • Claude: Customize → Connectors → add a custom connector and paste the address. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds it once for everyone; members then connect individually.
  • ChatGPT: turn on Developer mode under Settings → Connectors, create a connector and paste the address.
  • Claude Code, Cursor, n8n: these take the address plus an API key from API & webhooks, sent as Authorization: Bearer. No sign-in step.

3. Sign in and choose a workspace

Claude or ChatGPT sends you to Solstral to sign in. Pick the workspace to connect (one connection = one workspace), and tick anything extra you want to allow. By default a connection can read and update records; sending email and managing automations are off until you or an admin turns them on.

What it can and can’t do

A connection acts as the person who set it up, with their role. It can describe the workspace, search and query records, run reports, create and update records, log activities, and read automations. It can never reach settings, billing, domains, DNS or the shape of your objects, whatever scopes are granted. Anything that sends to a real person asks for confirmation first.

Managing connections

Settings → AI connections lists every live connection — the app, who authorised it, when it was last used — with per-connection toggles for sending and automations and a Disconnect button. Turning the workspace switch off disconnects everything at once. Every action taken through a connection appears in the audit log.

Allowance

Each paid plan includes a daily number of connector actions. Listing tools or reading the workspace shape never counts; only actions do.
